The Galveston College Community Chorale, under the direction of Michael Gilbert, will present its annual holiday concert on Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public and will be held at Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church, located at 2803 53rd Street in Galveston.
“Angels Sing” is the theme of this year's concert and will feature several selections referencing the singing of angels. “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, “Angels We Have Heard on High”, and a new piece entitled, “When Angels Sing” are just a few of the chorale holiday favorites to be included in the program. Concert attendees are encouraged to bring a small bell or jingle bell as they will be asked to participate throughout the concert.
Other selections include an Irish setting of “Joy to the World,” arranged by Dan Forrest, which includes instrumentalist, “Let It Snow” and the French carol “Sing We Now of Christmas”.
Ron Wyatt, accompanist for the chorale, will also be featured playing an organ piece.
